Organization of the Pack 

Cub Scout Pack 876 is sponsored by Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church in Midlothian, VA. We have boys from a number of different elementary schools, but MOST of our boys attend J.B. Watkins Elementary School. Our pack is broken into a number of Dens based on the grade level of the boys and these are lead by parents acting as the "Den Leader(s)": 
  • Lions - Kindergarten
  • Tigers - 1st graders 
  • Wolves- 2nd graders 
  • Bears - 3rd graders 
  • Webelos I - 4th graders 
  • Webelos II - 5th graders 
Parents are highly encouraged to participate in their child's scouting experience. It takes parental involvement and volunteering to make our Pack the success that it is. Boys in 2nd -5th grade will join an existing den, but parents will still be encouraged to step up and help out. 

Financing: Cubs pay a application fee of $15 when joining - this is prorated based on when they apply and join. This annual recharter cost is covered by the pack after the first year. In addition the pack has dues of $60 per year. This covers about one third of the cost per scout for activities, awards etc. The rest we attempt to raise with our annual popcorn sale or through donations.


Meeting Schedules 

Cub Scouts take part in two types of meetings: 
  1. Pack Meetings - The third Thursday of every month at Mt. Pisgah- This is when all dens come together to earn awards, present skits, and take care of Pack business. 
  2. Den Meetings - these average about 2 times per month and are scheduled by the den leaders based on the needs of the families in the den. The dens (6-10 boys) work on achievements, outings, electives during these fun meetings. 
  3. Pack Events- Throughout the year we will have other Pack events scheduled as needed. These may include Community Service Projects, Holiday Parties, Campouts, Pinewood Derby Race and much more. 

How to Join 


Now that you are ready to join here are the steps to follow: 
  1. Fill out the registration form available online at: http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/524-406A.pdf or contact pack leaders using the Contact Our Pack link above to schedule a time to pickup a registration form. 
  2. Contact Bruce Hoang brucehoang.bh@gmail.com to schedule a time to turn in the registration along with the appropriate pro-rated registration fee (listed on the registration form).

Uniform Information 


The following items are included in the uniform: These can be purchased at the Scout Shop (see below on info on Scout shop): 
  • Shirt (Blue- tigers, wolves, bears and tan or blue - webelos) 
  • Hat
  • World Crest Patch Heart of VA Patch Den Number Patch (New Tigers - rising 1st graders will be Den 6) 
  • Belt and Belt buckle 
  • Pack Numbers (8,7,6)
 The Pack will supply you with the following once fees are paid: 
  • Neckerchief and slide
  • Handbook
