Hello Campers! Mark your calendars and make your reservation NOW (or in the very near future!) for our annual Pack Spring Campout! We will be going to Bear Creek Lake State Park on Saturday, May 31st, 2014.

Address:
22 Bear Creek Lake Rd.
Cumberland, VA 23040
Phone: 804-492-4410

Sites are reserved by site type only, not by campground. The park assigns the specific site in a campground upon a guest's arrival to best meet the needs of the given campers. As of today, there are 25 campsites left for the weekend of May 31st. (Not sure how many cabins are available) Bear Creek has the most available sites still available for this weekend, which is why I chose it over other campgrounds (Pocahontas has 0 campsites available!)

CAMPSITES:
  • $30.00 per night (for Electric/water), (tax and fees not included in pricing)
  • Max of 6 people 1 vehicle allowed per site, additional vehicles parked at parking area, additional fee charged for extra car
  • Pets allowed, price may be additional?
  • Swimming is free with camping Check in 4:00pm Check out 3:00pm
  • Minimum 1 night stay These sites can be shared, but all tents must fit into the 20 X 20 tent pad.

CABINS:
  • $130.00per night (tax and fees not included)
  • Max of 4 people (2 sets of bunks)
  • 2 vehicles Pets allowed for additional fee Check in 3:00pm Check out 10:00am
  • Minimum 1 night stay These cabins can be shared.

RECREATION:
  • Swimming
  • Boat rental
  • Fishing (with a fishing license)
Each scout family is responsible for making their own reservation. My family will be camping Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st. You can make your reservation at: Reserve America 800-933-7275
Once you make your reservation, please email me at fetsko@verizon.net with how many in your party, what den you are in, your scout's name, and how many nights you will be camping. If you are planning on staying Friday night as well, this will be just a fun campout time with your friends and family. We will not have any official SCOUT events. We will have Pack activities planned for Saturday, possibly Sunday morning, which typically include a Pack hike, group game, and fishing. Dens may also wish to schedule den activities, such as group meals, work on requirements, belt loops, etc. For example: In the past, Den 3 has made breakfast on buddy burners, made spaghetti dinner for their families, and participated in Pot Luck dinners.

Don’t forget your bikes, balls, swimsuit and toys! Hope to see you there!
